Helen L. Morey

Helen L. Morey, 91, of 142 Langmaid Lane Bradford, a resident of the Bradford area for most of her life, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born November 8, 1923 in Dixonville, she was a daughter of the late Urald and Della (Stuchell) Dye.

She was a 1942 graduate of Bradford High School.

On July 17, 1943 in Smethport, she married Ralph E Morey, who died on December 20, 2002. She was a member of West Branch United Methodist Church and the West Branch Grange.

Helen enjoyed crocheting, crafting with plastic canvas, spending time with her family and especially her dog Holly Mae.

She worked as a checker for 16 years at Bradford Laundry and Dry Cleaning, later she worked 10 years for WR Case & Sons Cutlery, retiring February 28, 1986, then went to work at Allegany National Forest Ranger Station retiring in 1995.

Surviving is one daughter, Nancy Burke of Bradford, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 5 sisters, Pearl Johnston, Jean Rouser, Margaret Makin, Elaine Kirsch, and Eileen Trout, one brother Richard Dye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Ralph E. Morey, Jr. who died in 1977, one daughter, Wilma Thomas who died in 2001, one sister and five brothers.

Friends are invited to call on Monday November 24, 2014 from 3-5pm & 7-9 PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 with Rev. Matt Blake pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
