Mary Ruth Brown

Mary Ruth Brown, 92, formerly of 18 Riley Road, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at The Pavilion at BRMC, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born October 23, 1922, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Oliver James and Mary Christmas (O'Neil) Bragg.

On May 9, 1942, she married Joseph M. Brown, who passed away May 14, 1995.

She attended Bradford High School.  She worked for a time at J.C. Penney & Co. and also cleaned for the Tachler Loan Company.  

She was a member of St. Bernard Church.  She was an avid bridge player, bowler and a former member of Pine Acres Country Club. 

She is survived by two sons Joseph (Jean) Brown of Elkton, MD and Thomas A. (Lynn) Brown, of Bradford, a son in law, Paul Mosenson of Morton; seven grandchildren, Steven (Allyson) Brown, Christopher (Stephanie Martucci) Brown, Stacey (John) Siffrin and Susan (Greg) Gleason and Emily Mosenson, Richard (Aimee) Crary and Michael (Cindy) Crary; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.    

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Mosenson; three sisters, Irene McCracken, Edna Robinson and Marjorie Gocella and three brothers, Paul Bragg, Frank Bragg and Vance Bragg. 

Friends are invited to call from 9-10:30 AM,  Monday, April 27, 2015 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Ave., where  a prayer service will be held at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant.  Committal services and burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.  Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to The American Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor's choice .
