Joanne A. McLaughlin, 83, of 16 Rochester Street, Bradford, formerly of 359 East Main St., passed away, Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born October 23, 1932 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth O'Dell and Elayne (Anderson) O'Dell Carlan.
On November 8, 1958 at St. Francis Church in Bradford, she married Aaron L. McLaughlin who died on August 2, 1971.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a 1950 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1953 graduate of Bradford Hospital School of Nursing. She had worked 42 years as a Registered Nurse at Bradford Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1995.
Joanne loved playing cards, board games, and reading. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She cherrished Christmas Eve in her home.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three children, two daughters, Linda Jemmett and Karen Butler. one son Michael (Lisa) McLaughlin, two sisters, Sue (Darcy) Carletta, Donna (Blake) Nuzzo, a brother, Kenneth "Chuck" O'Dell, one aunt, Frances O' Dell all of Bradford, seven grandchildren, Gary Cosper, Stacey Cosper, Amy McLaughlin, Jennifer Oxendine, Erin Ann Fauver, Aaron Michael O'Toole, and Jeremy A. O'Toole, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister Gayle Faller.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, with Rev. Matt Blake, Pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
