Gladys E. Graves

Gladys E. Graves, 76, of 126 Spring Street, Gifford, passed away, Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at her home.

Born September 23, 1939, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Chambers) May.

On September 19, 1959, in Silver Creek, New York she married James R. Graves who survives.

Mrs. Graves attended Buffalo Schools. She had been employed at W.R. Case & Son's Cutlery, K-Mart, the Bradford Ecumenical Home and retired as a cook from Chapel Ridge.

She was one hell of a baker with one of her specialties was her pumpkin rolls and many other sweet deserts. She enjoyed puzzle books, reading and ceramics.

She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 56 years are four daughters, Sandra (Len) Barnes, of Harriman, TN, Cheryl Graves, of Warren, Jody Stafford, of Bradford, and Michelle (Gary) McDowell, of Smethport, two sons, Scott Graves, of Gifford, and James Graves, Jr., of Bradford, two sisters, Hester Gwynne, of Lancaster, NY, and Donna Jasinski, of Cheektawaga, NY, 18, grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Millie Hill, and three brothers, Everett, George and John May.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Hilltop Baptist Church where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, with Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
