Roberta Jean Zalepa

Roberta Jean Zalepa, 84, of Marshburg, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 22, 1932, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Laura (Manners) Fox.

On February 15, 1953, in Lewis Run, she married George Zalepa, who died on July 6, 1999.

Mrs. Zalepa was a 1950 graduate of Bradford HIgh School. She was a charter member of the Kinzua Volunteer Fire Department of Marshburg in 1967. In the late 70's it became the Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department. She served as president, secretary and treasurer of the Auxiliary.

Jean enjoyed crocheting, an avid reading, and was the best pie baker.

She was co-owner of the Rainbow Inn in Marshburg, along with her husband George, and her brother and sister in law Joe and Helen Mehalic.

Surviving is one daughter, Linda Souchik, of Marshburg, one son, Michael (Lynn) Zalepa, of Marshburg, 2 grandchildren, Jessica Souchik  of Franklin, and Matthew Souchik. of Murfeesboro, TN.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Arthur E. "Mike" Fox and one sister Betty Barber.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes retired Presbyterian minister officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
