Lillian L. Potter

Lillian Louise Potter, 91, a loving mother and grandmother, of 172 Summer Street, passed away, Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 22, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Alfred William and Blanche (Brown) Page She was a 1943 graduate of Bradford High School.

In Bradford in 1945, she married Floyd L. Potter, who died November of 1985.

Mrs Potter worked in the control lab at Kendall Refining during WW II. In 1970 she started as a reading aide for Title 1 and later as a special needs aide in the Bradford Area School District. She retired in 1990.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women, Eastern Circle and Wimodausis. She taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery, and compiled the weekly Tower Notes. She was a member and past president of the Current Events Club.

Mrs. Potter volunteered at the Bradford Hospital for over 15 years. She was a member of Bradford Area Woman's Club, the YMCA Morning Woman's Swim Group, the 50+ Group and a member of the Public School Employees Retirement System.

Surviving are four children, Darrell L. (Sandra) Potter, of Bradford, Alan L. (Ione) Potter, of Ohio,  Jan L. (Gary) Davis, of Allegany, and Randy L. (Theresa) Potter, of Bradford, 7 grandchildren, Tammy Potter, Kim (Bob) Michael, Kristen (Rob) Crews, Carey (Kevin) Whiting, Paige Potter, Sarah Potter, and Angie Potter, 12 great grandchildren, Kevin Thompson, Corey Thompson, Jackson Collard, Kendall Wathem, Kyle Michael, Brooke Michael, Trent Michael, Kiera Crews, Craig Crews, Kenzie Whiting,Trace Whiting, Aspen Girkin, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Thomas L. Potter in 1963, one grandson Craig Alan Potter August 2006, five sisters, Catherine Moore, Madeline "Bidee" Macholic, Alfreda "Freda" Steinhauser, Charlotte Getchel and Ina "Honey" Swanson, two brothers, Lawrence Robert "Laddie" Page and Dale Page.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Seth McClymonds pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
