Reva C. Rosenberg

Reva C. Swatsler Rosenberg, 87, of Erie, formerly of Bradford, passed away peacefully Friday, October 21, 2016, at Forestview Healthcare Center in Erie.

Born December 27, 1928, in Middlebourne WV, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Belva (Gatrell) Myers. She grew up in Bradford and graduated from Bradford High School in 1947.

Following graduation she married Ralph Swatsler. Together they raised 3 children before he passed away in 1970. Reva then married Harold Rosenberg in 1975 and together they enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and their cats and Beagle dogs.

Reva earned her pilot's license so she could fly the small plane they owned and enjoyed living on the 8th hole of the golf course in Williston Fl for several years. In later years they moved to Erie to be closer to family. Harold died in 2012 and Reva moved into the Springhill Senior Living Community in Erie. She enjoyed many activities and opportunities there, especially playing Bingo. She loved doing craft projects, cooking, baking especially Christmas cookie gift bags for her adult grandchildren. 

Surviving are two daughters, Judy (Norman) Fedor, of Erie, and Marsha Lignian of Bradford, one son Dennis R. Swatsler of Bradford, two sisters in law, Marjorie Myers of Smethport and Dolores Myers of Bradford, She was so proud of her grandchildren, Chad (Christine) Bucher of  Richland, Ryan Fedor of Torrance CA, Casey (Michele) Bucher of Bradford, Corey (Tracy) Fedor of Erie, Dennis E. Swatsler of Erie, Hallie (Robert) Johnston of Webster NY, Sherre Jo Swatsler, of Smethport. She dearly loved her many great grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, and Meghan Bucher, Chandler, Cody, Cade, and Cameron Bucher, Pierce and Remley Johnston, Ella and Nora Fedor, and Evee, Kiera, and Emma Swatsler. She is further survived by her step grandchildren, Shannon Gustafson, Renee Bishop, Nathan Gustafson, all of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, an infant grandson Stephen Paul, step daughter Karen Rosenberg Gustafson, two brothers William and Robert Myers, and one sister Doris Norton.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue, Bradford, at 1:00pm funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Matt Blake, Pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

For Erie paper Reva's family is eternally grateful for the loving support and care she received from the staff and therapists of the Oakview and Fosterview areas of the Springhill community over the past several months.

Memorials may be made to the McKean County SPCA or the Humane Society of Erie.
