Sophia G. Farynick

Sophia G. "Sophie" Farynick, 93, formerly of 19 Cornen Street, Bradford, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Bradford Manor.

Born January 30, 1923, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Socrates and Mary (Hanson) Tsepelis. She was a 1940 graduate of Bradford High School.

On February 24, 1945 at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Bradford married Marco Farynick, who died on May 6, 2007.

Sophie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening but most important was spending time with her family.

Surviving is one daughter, Christine (Carl) McCracken, of Derrick City, a sister, Mary Jane Gigliotti, of Bradford and a brother, Socrates "Sam" (Patty) Tsepelis, of Bradford, seven grandchildren, Carl "Chip"(Marsha) McCracken, Chris (Beverly) McCracken, and Cory (Jamie Pabon) McCracken, Katie Schlabach, Molly (Kenny) Gabbard, Jess Schlabach, Bridgette Schlabach, five great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Denise Schlabach who died July 14, 2016, and two brothers George Tsepelis and James Tespelis.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Matt Blake officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Bradford Manor Activities Fund, or charity of the donor's choice.
