John Jack Dailey

John P. "Jack" Dailey, of 15 Constitution Ave., Bradford, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born in Bradford on November 26, 1927; he was a son of the late Stephen W. and Margaret (Price) Dailey. He was a 1946 graduate of Bradford High School.

In the fall of 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army, served as a member of the Glider Brigaide as well as a member of the 11th Airborne Division in Japan and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1948.  He returned home from the service and attended the University of Pittsburgh.

In St. Francis Church he married Cora J. (Courtright) Dailey who survives. They were married for over 50 years.

Jack worked as a technician at Bell Telephone and later Lucent for over 35 years.

He was a die-hard Penn State and St Bonaventure fan, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Bell Pioneers, the Elks Club, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving in addition to his wife Cora, is one son, Dr. John M. and daughter-in-law Catherine Dailey of Las Vegas NV, one granddaughter Megan K. Dailey of London, England, and several nieces and nephews, including, Lt General Richard Timmons, Commander Steven Dailey and Nancy Dailey all of Northern VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother William Dailey.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Wounded Warrior’s Foundation in his honor.
