Rosemary Barhight

Rosemary Barhight, 63, of Patterson Lane, Bradford, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in Buffalo.

Born November 23, 1953, in Nesquehoning, she was the daughter of the late Peter Slivka and Rose (Litwitz) Slivka- Hydro.

On June 9, 1973, in Bethlehem, she married Douglas E. Barhight who survives.

Rosemary was a 1971 graduate of Freedom High School in Bethlehem, she later graduated from Northampton Area Community College with a degree in Commercial Art.

Mrs. Barhight had been a member, Youth Leader and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalls Creek. After her family move to Bradford she joined the Bolivar Drive Baptist Church where she was a Youth Leader and Bible School Teacher.

She had been employed as a school bus driver for the Bradford Area School District for 22 years.

Rosemary was the most Awesome Mother Ever! She impacted many children’s lives while driving school bus. She loved to garden, watch birds, cook, and most especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Douglas of 43 years, she is survived by two daughters, Allison (Scott) Kunkel, of East Berlin, and Meghan (Matt) Townsend, of Allegany, NY, two brothers, Paul (Eileen) Slivka, of Palmerton, and Michael (Fran) Slivka, of Bethlehem, three grandchildren, Ellie Barhight, Morgan Kunkel and Tyler Kunkel, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Peter and Joseph Slivka.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave. At 11:00am a memorial service will be held with Scott Barhight, officiating.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
