Not for condolences. The world lost one colorful, helpful and funny sum bitch last night. Always there to help, and if you ''stopped in for 5minutes'' forget it, you were there for the day. He was a real, honest to God trucker. If there was a way, to ''f*$k the system'' he was on it. Between him and 8 ball, and the assorted cast of characters, he taught me a lot, and entertained the shit, out of everyone. He had an uncanny way, of telling you how stupid you were, without coming right out and saying ''You''re STUPID'', content to let you figure it out for yourself. We used to call his words of wisdom, ''chip-isms''. Working the system. When he wanted his phone number, to be ''368-CHIP'', the phone company wanted to charge him, and he told them ''My kid''s kind of slow, and I want it to be easy for him to remember''. That was Chip. A chip ism: after getting pulled over, (despite turning and twisting around a couple of roads) because he was going more than 25 down a hill, the officer slaps his hand on the trailer and says ''I suppose this, isn''t it truck, over 26,000 pounds!!???''. Chips reply? ''Well, officer, that''s the trailer you have your hand on.... and it''s actually, being pulled by that ''over the road tractor'' I just got out of. It the whole tractor/trailer thing you''ve heard so much about. Godspeed Chip. Thanks for the stories, the advice, and the memories. ''The big red truck, from Timbuck''. He was a Truckers definition of a Trucker''.
