Margaret L. Tingley

Margaret L. Tingley, 91, of 1028, East 2nd St., Coudersport, formerly of 15 Chatauqua Place, Bradford, passed away,  March 2, 2017, at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport.

Born  September 3, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Norman Lightner and Bessie (Maltby) Rathfon.

Margaret was a 1943 graduate of Bradford High school.

On February 16, 1946, she married Frank Harold Tingley, who died on December 29, 1985.

She was a member of Bolivar Drive Church of the Nazarene and later the First Church of the Nazarene.

Margaret worked at Kendall Refining Company from 1944 to 1946 and Zippo Manufacturing Company from 1951 until her retirement in 1990.

Surviving are five grandchildren, Molly (Kevin) King of Olean, Sam Gross of Cuba, Thomas Gross of Indiana, Timothy Morey of Virginia Beach, and Tom (Pam) Morey of Virginia Beach, several great grandchildren, one brother Bruce Rathfon of St. College, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three daughters, Sandra Morey, Marsha Tingley and Patricia Gross, one son, Duane Tingley, one son-in-law, Jerry Gross and nine brothers and two sisters.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., at 11:00am a Celebration of Life will be held for Margaret and her son-in-law Jerry Gross with Rev. Matthew Blake, Pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Total Senior Care, or the Pines in Olean, NY.
