James Casey Kan Jr.

James Casey Kan, Jr., 26, a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to all, of 272 Chapel Fork Road, Marshburg, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Born October 5, 1990 in Buffalo, he was a son of James Casey and Middalia (Rivera) Kan, Sr.

He was a 2009 graduate of Bradford High School where he excelled in wrestling, football, and choir. He was a Boy Scout and a member of Future Farmers of America.

James attended Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church and was a former Alter Server. 

He enjoyed motorcycle riding, dirt bike riding, four wheeling, boating and kayaking.  His greatest joy was being outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt, shoot archery, camp, spend time with his dogs, (Sinda and Boy), and hunting coyotes. James loved to travel to new places, all you had to do is ask, and he was on the road with family or friends.

He was a member of the Bradford Gun Club, the Eagles, and the Mosquito Creek Sportman's Club.

James worked as a water truck driver for Kan's Water Hauling a family owned business.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Kaitlyn Kan, of Lewis Run; Nichole Kan, of Rochester, NY, one niece Kyla Kan of Lewis Run, his girlfriend Ashleigh White with whom he resided, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Confesora Rivera and his paternal grandparents James and Patricia Kan.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday March 22, 2017, from 3-5pm & 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., where a prayer service will be held Thursday, at 9:15am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Lewis Run, with Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz, Pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Smethport, as Celebrant. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
