Walter W. White

Walter W. White, 78, of 5812 Leonard Run, Limestone, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, March 27, 2017, at Olean General Hospital.

Born April 27, 1938 in Limestone, he was a son of the late Walter and Ada (Moore) White, Sr.

On February 22, 1958, in Smethport, he married Christina L. (Pearce) White who survives.

Walter was a 1956 graduate of Limestone High School.

He had been employed at Corning Glass Works and later became a self employed logger. He owned and operated Walter White Timber Contractor.

In 1980 he studied at Elim Bible Institute and became an ordained Minister. He was pastor of the Limestone Community Gospel Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. His favorite times were spent with family and friends, especially his time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Christina of 59 years, he is survived by four daughters, Sherry (Jon) Stark, of Bradford, Beth (Jeff) Spencer, of Rushford, NY, Rebekah (Tom) Pfeil, of Bradford, and Mary (Todd) Sayers, of Naperville, IL, one son, Ron White, of Limestone, a sister, Dorothy Gordon, of Nunda, NY, two brothers, Lawrence (Marion) White, of Limestone; LaVerne (Nancy) White, of Cuba, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Gloria Dixon and Iva Mogg.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March, 30, 2017, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., at 1:00pm funeral services will be held with  with Rev. Dennis Pierce, pastor of the Limestone Community Gospel Church and Rev. Greg Mullin, pastor of  Community Gospel Church of Scottsville, NY co-officiating. Committal Services and burial will follow in Limestone Cemetery.
