Mark L. Taylor

Mark L. Taylor, 63, of Gifford, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born April 19, 1954 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Myron Orvis and Edith (Wegscheider) Taylor.

Mark was a 1973 graduate of Bradford Central Christian High School where he excelled in swimming. He later attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford School of Nursing.

On July 22, 2006 in Kushequa, he married Christine M. (Miller) Thompson Taylor who survives.

Mark had worked at the American Red Cross, Bradford Ecumenical Home, Owens Illinois, and at Collins Pine, Kane Hardwood Division until he became ill with Alzheimer Disease.

After his death, Mark participated in the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer Disease Research Center by donating his brain for research.

He had attended Overcomers Church of Faith, He greatly enjoyed going to Bible Study and daily devotions. He was a woodworker and made beautiful furniture. Watching birds, gardening, exercising and riding his bike were his favorite hobbies.

Surviving in addition to his wife Christine, are three daughters, Jeannie Hannon, of Bradford, Melissa Taylor, of Bradford, Brittany Taylor, of Cyclone, one son, Bryan (Jaime) Taylor, of Bradford, one step daughter, Amber Thompson, of Bradford, three sisters, his twin sister, Michelle (Michael) Cedar, of Derrick City,  Martha Taylor, of Bradford, and Mary Taylor, of Allegany, NY, five brothers, Myron (Patty) Taylor, of Bradford, Millard (the late Pam) Taylor, of Bradford, Matthew Taylor, of Bradford, Morris (the late Chris) Taylor, of CA, and Martin (Karen) Taylor, of GA, 14 grandchildren; Kristopher, Douglas, Aroura, Brody, Matthew, Devin, Samuel, Seth, Cody, Jaden, Braedan, Hailey, Donovan, and Wyatt, three step grandchildren, Alicia, Makayla and Gracie Jo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Robert M. Cedar.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., at 1:00pm funeral services will be held with Rev. Frank P. Hill Pastor of the Overcomers Church of Faith, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
