Lawrence C. Donahue

Rev. Lawrence C. Donahue, 76, of 45 Stone Ave., Bradford, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, at Bradford Manor.

Born July 9, 1941, in the Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Lawrence A. and Grace (Behan) Donahue.

Larry was ordained a Priest in the Roman Catholic Church on May 30, 1970. Father Donahue served as a Curate at St. Raphael's Church in East Meadow NY from June of 1970 until June of 1976.

Fr. Donahue was received into the ministry of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Long Island on December 18, 1978.

Fr. Donahue served as Curate from December of 1978 until August of 1982 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Hicksville NY. In August of 1982 he served as Rector at St. Cuthbert's Episcopal Church in Selden NY. Fr. Donahue moved to the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania when he accepted the call to be Rector at Church of Ascension in August of 1998.  He retired from Ascension on December 3, 2007.

Fr. Larry is survived by his wife Patricia  A (Reilly) Donahue of over 34 years, two step daughters, Debi Costa, of Kings Park NY, and Beth Fridell, of San Tan Valley AZ, one step son, Richard J. (Janice) Fridell, of Long Island, NY, two sisters, Betty (Don) Warner, of Bloomsbury, NJ, and Grace Mary Donahue, of Westbury, NY, eight grandchildren Tommy Costa, Andrew Costa, Desire Tsepetis, Ahnorae Fridell, Jessica Dwyer, Samantha Fridell, Shaela Fridell, and Joseph Fridell, and 5 great grandchildren, one nephew and one niece.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave in Bradford.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Church of the Ascension, at 1:00pm on Friday, August 4, 2017, with Rev. Stacey Fussell, Rector, officiating.

Friends in New York are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00am in St Cuthbert's Episcopal Church in Selden NY with Rev. Canon Charles Ackerson officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery in Plainview, NY
