John F. Jack Cummiskey

John F. "Jack" Cummiskey, Jr., 89, of Bradford, formerly of 91 Russell Blvd. for over 50 years, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born March 15, 1928, in Rixford, he was the son of the late John F. and Elsie (Larson) Cummiskey, Sr.

On November 25, 1950 in St. Bernard Church, he married Jean Marie (Carlson) Cummiskey who died January 6, 2002.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and served as a lector and commentator.

Jack was a 1946 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1952 graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a degree in Accounting. In between his graduation from high school and college he served in the United States Army from August 30, 1946 to February 10, 1948 and was honorably discharged. He played on the US Army baseball team.

After college he began his employment with Dresser Manufacturing as manager of the cost accounting department from 1952 to 1961. He moved on to Bradford Motor Works which later became Trico and served President and CEO from 1961 to 1969. He transferred to California to Trico's Corporate Headquarters where he worked as the Corporate Secretary and Treasurer and returned to Bradford in 1973.

When he returned to Bradford he worked for W R Case & Sons as the cost accounting manager, production manager, plant manager and vice president of manufacturing. He then moved on to Top Line-Allegheny Bradford Corporation, worked as sales manager, vice president and general manager of production and  retired in 1995.

He continued to be very active with different organizations, he served on the Board of Directors of the United Way, and Volunteered each year for the Tony Dolan Ski for Cancer.

Surviving is a daughter, Barbara L. Cummiskey, of Valencia, a son, Timothy J. Cummiskey, of Bradford, a daughter-in-law, Liana Cummiskey, of Buffalo, a sister-in-law, Patricia (Kenneth) Schaming, of Bradford, 2 granddaughters, Cara (Brandon) LaBrozzi of Indiana, and Christa (Peter) Dzirkalis of Bradford, one great grandson, Jackson "Jack" LaBrozzi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Kevin J. Cummiskey who died April 3, 2008, two sisters Marjorie Francis and Marilyn Souders.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 21, 2017, at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with Rev. Stanley Swacha, Senior Associate Pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
