Ruth A. Holes, 93, of Cyclone, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at home.
Born October 20, 1923 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Frederick and Flossie (Husted) Collins.
Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Bradford High School. She attended Eastern Nazarene College, studied music and graduated in 1943.
On July 26, 1948 in Cumberland MD, she married Charles H. "Chuck" Holes who died January 5, 1996.
Ruth was a stay at home mom and worked a brief time at AirCo Speer.
She was a former member of First Church of the Nazarene and current member of the Hilltop Baptist Church, a member of the Red Hat's, and a life time member of the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, Bonko, spending time at camp, and with her family especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Sharkie) Thomas, of Cyclone, and Cheryl (Mark Russell) Covert, of Cyclone, one son Bruce (Jill) Holes, of Gifford, one step daughter Rowene Pickholtz of Merriottsville MD, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, one sister, Rachel Collins of NH, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Larry Holes, one grandson Robbie Thiel, one great grandson Parker Burritt, one brother Charles Collins.
Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday August 29, 2017, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hilltop Baptist Church, and again on Wednesday from 10:00am to 11:00am. At 11:00am funeral services will be held with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor officiating. Committal services and burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
