Agnes M. Moyer, 80, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, of 1271 East Main St., Bradford, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017, peacefully, at Bradford Manor.
Born March 27, 1937 in Pottsville, she was one of 19 children to the late Thomas and Catherine Rita (Kenworthy) Shaw.
On May 3, 1958, in St. Ambrose Church in Schuykill Haven, she married James M. Moyer Sr. who survives.
Agnes was a stay at home mom until her children were raised. She then worked for over 25 years at Tasta Pizza of Falconer NY for her son Michael. She took great pride in meeting and serving thousands of people over those years.
After she retired, she continued helping others in need. She helped her friends clean house, bath the elderly, or simply run their errands. She always put others before herself. She enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, swimming, playing bingo, but most especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband Jim, of over 59 years, are three sons James M. (Christina) Moyer Jr., of Bradford, Thomas (Julie) Moyer, of Warren, and Michael (Melissa) Moyer, of Bemus Point, NY, five sisters, Virginia Shaw, of Pottsville, Mary Rita Caravan, of Sargent Bluff IA, Ethel Rita Ruff, of Schuykill Haven, Rose Marie Santarelli, Ellen Wolfe, of Liberty IN, eight brothers, John Edward "Jack" Shaw, of Salida CO, George "Arnie" Shaw, of Wilmington DE, Aloysius "Al" Shaw, of Ohio, William Shaw, of Willingboro NJ, Joseph Shaw, Francis "Frank" Shaw, of Florida, Edward Shaw, of Houston TX, and Ronald Shaw, of Wilmington DE, seven grandchildren Katherine Moyer, Kelley Moyer, Casey Moyer, Shannon Moyer, Michael Moyer Jr., Ashley Lindsey, and Bryce Moyer, one great grandchild on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Catherine Shaw, Margaret Shaw, and Dorothy Shaw, two brothers Thomas J. Shaw Jr., and Robert Shaw.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday September 6, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., and again from 9:30am to 10:30am Thursday, where a prayer service will be held at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum.
