Theodore E. "Ted" Jamison Sr., 84, formerly of Buffalo, went to his eternal home with Jesus, Friday, November 10, 2017, at the Bradford Manor, surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 22, 1933, in Forest County, he was a son of the late Harvey and Mamie (Gorton) Jamison.
Mr. Jamison was a 1951 graduate of Bradford High School. On March 2, 1953 in Buffalo, NY, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as Corporal on March 4, 1955, at Fort George G. Meade, in Maryland.
In 1953 he married Joan (Wilson) Jamison who was the mother to his five children, she passed away in 1976.
Ted had worked at Bell Aircraft in Buffalo and then later at General Motors in Buffalo, retiring after 27 years of service. Ted also had a landscape business in Buffalo and employed several youths during the summers, he enjoyed teaching them a skill.
He was very active, and enjoyed gardening, traveling, karate, piloting, and doing a mission trip to Peru, in his retirement years. He was fun loving, funny, and had an infectious laugh. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross as a driver who took patients to Roswell and delivering Meals on Wheels. Helping people was his life, family or strangers, he would just look for opportunities to help. He loved Jesus and devoted his life to serving him and he enjoyed studying and learning about him and now he has his reward. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie Jamison, of Buffalo, NY, and Amy (Tom) Craig, of Willow Creek, three sons, Theodore (Michelle) Jamison Jr., of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael (Carm) Jamison, of Buffalo, NY, and David Jamison, of Buffalo, NY, nine grandchildren, Kevin, Amanda, Mallary, Michael, David, Caitlin, Jordan, Rachael, and Brittany, two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jaxon, one sister, Mary (Mike) Angelo of Westline, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Ginger Frederico, and Linda K. Green and four brothers, Leon, Evan, Paul, and Larry Jamison.
Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, with Rev Robert Gorton pastor of the Peoples Christian Fellowship Church, officiating. Military Honors and burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
