Geraldine M. "Geri" Sorenson

Geraldine M. "Geri" Sorenson, 74, of Celoron, NY, passed away Saturday December 2, 2017, at Bradford Manor, in Bradford.

Born February 13, 1943 in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Gladys (Lindquist) Brezee. She attended Warren area schools and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1961. 

On April 15, 1967 in Warren, she married Louis Rosendahl, who passed away December 22, 1992. On December 29, 2003, in Casa Grande, AZ, she married Eugene "Gene" Sorenson, who passed away June 17, 2006. 

Geri worked for the US Department of Health and Education in Washington, DC for a time. She returned to Warren and worked for GTE and K-Mart. 

She moved to Casa Grande, AZ for a time, she returned to Warren and married Gene and they resided in Celeron, NY. 

She was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Russell for 29 years, the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Evan's Roller Skating Club in Jamestown, NY.  She was an avid painter of animal portraits and enjoyed traveling. 

Geri was an advocate of the American Morgan Horse Breeders Association. She was a well-known representative of the breed as seen in the show ring atop her Flaxen Chestnut Morgan mare, 'Dahl's Miss Delight.' She bred, trained and showed Morgan Horses for over 35 years and was a local 4-H Horse Club Leader, representing Warren County for over 15 years. 

Surviving are two children, LeeAnna (Ralph) Dowd, of Russell and Hugo Todd Rosendahl of Celoron, NY; two step children, Vicki Rosendahl of Warren and Reed (Joanna) Sorenson of Lakewood, NY; six grandchildren, Summer L. Rosendahl, Dakota Rosendahl, Alex Giordon, Peter Morrison, Stehanie Sorenson and Dylan Sorenson; four great grandchildren, Madlyn Morrison, Leah Morrison, Lane Morrison and Chloe Giordon; two sisters, Melissa (Dennis) Worden of Casa Grande, AZ and Margo (Eric) Berg of Busti NY; one niece, Kimberly Worden and one nephew, Jamie Berg. 

Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Geri’s life at 11 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Cable Hollow Church, with Rev. Allan Jones, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, in Russell.

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the Cable Hollow Church or to a Hospice of your choice.
