All Condolences -

Debbie and family, Please accept my deepest sympathy. Will be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Andy was a tender soul. I remember one time when he was a wee lad that he came with his Dad to pick me up at Bradford Airport. And he loved a song on the radio, "Save the Best for Last". I was astonished that such a small boy understood the emotions behind that song, but he did. The memory stuck with me. Even as I didn''t know Andy well, since I left home at 18 to travel halfway across the country, I saw as he grew into a young man. His voice sounded like his Dad''s and I could scarcely tell them apart. And he was a joy every time I saw him. I can''t know the totality of his life, but he produced a beautiful daughter he adored and a son I don''t think he got to see much. Life is complicated. And so it goes. I wish much love and healing to Rob and Debbie and Andy''s best friend and sister, Bethany. And to everyone who loved this beautiful young man, he''ll be missed. I will miss him. He was well loved.

I am sending all the love I can muster to everyone suffering during this time of great sorrow and loss. Andy was a magical, brave, creative, unique, and beautiful person who made the world more interesting simply by being in it. I will always remember playing superheroes at grandmas house. He always insisted on playing the Joker. It was perfect for his personality: He had a penchant for creating playful chaos, and I admired him because he was never afraid of the dark. Even into adulthood, we addressed our letters to one another as -J and -C (-C because I had the pleasure of making occasional chaos with him as Catwoman and it stuck). In one of our last exchanges, he was consoling me because of something painful I was going through and he said “I am of the mind that you have to go through hell before you find heaven.” J, I hope you found it. I miss you and I love you.
