Janet L. Barmer

Janet L. Barmer, 84, formerly of formerly of Duke Center and Eldred, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born April 8, 1934 in Duke Center, she was a daughter of the late Burrell Leslie and Martha Elizabeth (Stewart) Fox.

Janet married Rotha R. Barmer who died on November 7, 1992.

She was a self-employed private duty home healthcare worker at for many families in the Duke Center and Eldred area. She also helped raise many children in the Duke Center area.

Janet loved to crochet, and spent many hours making lap robes, for people in the nursing homes, and baby blankets and bonets for the maternity ward. She also enjoyed to garden and cook for her friends.

Surviving are three daughters, Shelly (Bob) Wheeler, of Smethport, Sherry (Steven) Sadowski, of WI, and Debbie Barmer, of Duke Center, one son, Robert (Kelly) Barmer, of Lewis Run, four grandchildren, Dustin Krott, Cody Krott, Nathan Krott, and Allison Krott, one sister, Patricia (George) Pascarella, of Bradford, one nephew and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters in infancy.

Services are private at the convenience of family at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
