Mary E. Getchel

Mary E. Getchel, 68, of 38 McKune Avenue, Bradford, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, peacefully, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

Born June 5, 1949 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Alva (Helander) Crappio.

On June 21, 1971 in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, she married James W. Getchel who survives.

Mary was a 1967 graduate of Bradford High School and later graduated from Pharmacy technician school in West Virginia.

She worked as a pharmacy technician at Walmart in W.Va. and Bradford.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church, and served on the Church Board and as treasurer for many years.

Surviving in addition to her husband Jim of 46 years are three daughters, Melanie (Calvin) Trowel, of Louisville KY, Marissa Getchel, of Jacksonville FL, and Mollie Carroll, of Jacksonville FL, one sister, Cherri (Bud) Bailey, of Clarendon, one brother, Mike Crappio, of Bradford, one granddaughter Sara Carroll, and several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday May 12, 2018, 10:00am to 11:00am at Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church, at 11:00am funeral services will be held with Rev. Thomas Pierotti Pastor of the Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and Rev. Douglas Soley Pastor Emeritus Co-officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
