Rexford A. Watkins

Rexford A. "Rex" Watkins, 93, formerly of 183 Jackson Avenue, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born January 19, 1925 in Austinburg, he was a son of the late Newell and Etta (Adams) Watkins.

On February 6, 1945 in Elkton MD, he married Mabel (Snyder) Watkins who survives.

Rex was a graduate of Ulysses High School Class of 1941.

On July 14, 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served during WW II, and was honorably discharged on December 3, 1945.

He was self-employed as a Barber in Bradford area for many years. He was a member, and Past Master of the Lewisville Masonic Lodge #556 F&AM, the Coudersport Consistory, and the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford.

Surviving in addition to his wife Mabel of 73 years, is one daughter, Etta (Ken) Huss, of Port Allegany, three grandchildren, Jamie Babcock, Jeffrey Huss, and Jason Huss, and several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Francis Watkins, and six brothers.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday May 21, 2018, from Noon to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave, at 1:00pm funeral services will be held with Allen Young, Pastor of the East Smethport United Christian Church, officiating. Military Honors by members of the American Legion Post 108 and graveside committal services will follow in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.
