Philip J. Tassone

Philip J. Tassone, 88, of 903 West Washington St., Bradford, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at his residence.

Born June 8, 1930 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Philip J. and Sue (Minchie) Tassone, Jr. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Bernard High School.

On August 16, 1980 in Smethport, he married Janette Y. (Brown) Tassone who survives.

On November 20, 1950, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1953.

He had worked for the City of Bradford, Boviard & Seafang, Corning Glass, and was as a self-employed carpenter from 1975 until his retirement in 1995.

Surviving is his wife Janette of 37 years, two daughters, Kim Tassone, of Dayton, and Robin (Kevin) Steffy, of Dayton, two sons, Rick (Lori) Tassone, of Virginia Beach, VA Kevin (Angie) Tassone, of New Bern, NC, two step daughters, Kathrine J. (Chris) Carlson, of Clermont, Cindi Johnson, of Smethport, two step sons Ben (Laura) Johnson, of Duke Center, and Mike (Jackie) Johnson, of Clarksburg, TN, one sister, Gloria Colley, of Dover, DE, two brothers Donald Tassone, of Mason, OH, Robert  Tassone, of Bradford, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son Joseph Tassone.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday June 15, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., and again on Saturday from 10:00am to 11:00am funeral services will then be held at 11:00am, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Military Honors and burial will be accorded by members of the United States Air Force and the Honor Guard of The American Legion Post #108 in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Legion Post #108 or the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 212, or charity of the donor's choice.
