Arnold R. Evers

Arnold R. Evers, 76, of 13 Nelson Ave. Bradford, returned to his heavenly home Tuesday, July 10, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Born in Bradford, PA on May 26, 1942, he was a son of the late Robert and Gladys (Arnold) Evers.

On May 27, 1989, at Grace Lutheran Church, he married Shirley Ann (Unferdorfer) Evers, who survives.

Arnold was a 1960 graduate of Bradford High School. He had been employed at Super Duper Markets, and then for 45 years at Zippo Manufacturing as a commercial artist.  He was lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he held many positions, sang in the choir and also served as a Deacon.

He was an avid hunter, and especially enjoyed archery hunting. He loved DIY projects, spending time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Shirley he is survived by two daughters, Katie (Brock) Rice, of Southern Pines, SC, and Susie (Brad) Walker, of State College, four grandchildren, Dexter Walker, Nolan Walker, Braxton Rice and Bjorn Rice, one sister in law, Jan Somers, two brothers in law, Rich (Laura) Unferdorfer, and Tony (Diane) Unferdorfer, three nephews, Terry (Lori) Evers, Jim (Jodi) Evers, and Robb (Harmony) Evers, one niece, Julie D'Annunzio. He is also survived by several cousins, including a very special cousin, Dr. Ree K. (Barbara Hemink) Arnold.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Peter Jay Evers.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, July, 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at the Grace Lutheran Church.  A memorial service will follow at Noon.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
