Francis R. Pageau

 

Francis R. Pageau, 74, of 144 Davis Street, Bradford, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 peacefully, at his residence.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY, on December 20, 1943, he was the son of the late Antoine and Marion June (McPherson) Pageau.

On November 25, 1992, in Saranac Lake, NY, he married Linda Ann (Brockway) Pageau who survives.

Mr. Pageau enlisted in the United States Army on May 13, 1965. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1967. After his service, he worked at the Federal Correction Institution in Danbury, CT. He then transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution in Ray Brook, NY, where he served as a Lieutenant and retired in 1999. After his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he had worked for 30+ years, he then worked as a jailer in Marshall County Alabama. He then moved to Bradford and worked at the Airport and later at Zippo Manufacturing. 

He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge in Saranac Lake, NY.

In addition to his wife Linda he is survived by one daughter, Renee (Lex) Beloat, of Reno, NV, one son, Scott (Anna) Pageau, of Jacksonville, FL, one step daughter Christina (Bruce) Franco, of Gifford, PA, two step sons, Michael Rule, of Tupper Lake, NY, and Mark Rule, of Rochester, NY, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, a sister, Norma G. (John) Bourdan, and his dog, Pepper.

At the family's request there will be no visitation.

Lieutenant Pageau " Frank" Had all my respect, He took care of his people I will miss him greatly, I worked for him since 1987 he put me straight and taught me a lot. when he retired we had a quiet smaill party I presented him with a pocket watch old school with an engraving that read "Times remembered" we shed a lot of tears Rest in Peace my Brother, Til we meet again.
