Sandra L. Compton, 70, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all, of 17 Williams Street, Bradford, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Bradford Manor surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania on January 3, 1948, she was a daughter of the late John and Naomi (Glover) Lobaugh.
A 1967 graduate of Bradford High School. Sandy started her career in dietary management while in her teen years at the Bradford Hospital where she prepared and delivered meal trays to sick patients. She later moved on to become a cook with the former Children's Home of Bradford. After nearly 40 years of service to children and staff, Sandy retired from Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems in 2013.
She was a longtime member of Bradford's T.O.P.S group from which she was recognized as a Division 1 - 1st Place Winner in 2017. Aside from spending quality time and running around town with her beloved and faithful dog, Lucy, Sandy enjoyed crocheting, traveling, watching NCIS, and shopping on QVC.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Compton, of Bradford, and Nichole Compton, of Corry, two sisters, Jeanne (the late John) Neal of Bradford, Kathy (Robert) Stidd and one brother, Tommy Lobaugh of Bradford. She was a grandmother to many children including: Danyelle (Brandon Veite) Compton, Codi Zimmerman, Ryan Dickinson, Anna Anderson, Drage Waterman, Azlyn Compton, Emilie Compton, Autmn Oakes, Ora Compton, Austin Oakes, Madison Compton, Amber Swick, and one great grandchild, Britton Veite. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews: Lisa Neal, Stacey (Eddy) Thomas, Bobby Stidd, Jessica Stidd and Naomi "Annie" Lobaugh, and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, she leaves behind four close friends for whom she shared a special bond: Karen and Cassie Glover and Rebecca and Karina Camp.
She is preceded in death by both parents, one brother, John W. "Jackie" Lobaugh, and her former husband James Compton.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., at 5:00pm funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Joshua Haney, Pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
