Gloria B. Conklin, 93, of 100 St. Francis Drive Bradford, formerly of Bolivar Drive, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born January 11, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Olive (Childs) Swanson.
In 1944, in Limestone, she married Guy L. Conklin, Sr., who died December 10, 2004.
She had been employed at the Georgia Pacific and retired from Zippo Manufacturing after 18 years.
Gloria enjoyed sewing, decorating cakes for her grandchildren, reading, she made awesome Halloween costumes, and she loved to travel.
Gloria is survived by two sons, Guy L. (Linda) Conklin and Gerald M. (Bonnie) Conklin all, of Bradford, and foster daughter Brenna Hulings of NC, two grandchildren, Kevin Conklin, and Lisa (Brian) Conn, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Gerald and Lamurr Swanson, and one sister Dolores "Dolly" Silsby.
Private committal services will be held for family only with Rev. Matt Blake, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
