Raymond R. Cummiskey

Raymond R. Cummiskey, 86, of Interstate Parkway, Bradford, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Bradford Manor. 

Born on April 1, 1932 in Toledo OH, he was a son of the late Robert Arthur and Mildred (Beck) Cummiskey. He was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School. 

On June 26, 1952, he enlisted into the United States Navy. He was stationed at Westover Air Force Base, and McGuire Air Force Base then aboard the destroyer USS Cony, as a deck hand during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged, June 19,1956.

On November 21, 1964, in St. Bernard Church, he married Mary (Solarek)  Cummiskey, who died December 10, 2008.

Ray worked as a lineman for Time Warner Cable, then in Maintenance at BRMC before retirement. He later worked at BRMC as a Security Guard. 

He enjoyed gardening, putting puzzles together and watching nature. 

Surviving is one daughter, Helen (John) Schuster, of Bradford,  four grandchildren, Heather Kuntz, Derrick Kuntz, Connor Schuster and Gabriel Schuster, one sister, Susan Costello-Camarco, and one brother, Gene Cummiskey, both of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister Joan Fair.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 10:30am to 12:30pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Home, 33 South Avenue, where a prayer service will be held at 12:30pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Full Military Honors by the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 108, and committal services follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum.
