Raymond E. Foster


Raymond E. "Gene"  Foster, 56, of 25 York Street, Bradford, PA, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his residence.

Born May 7, 1962 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Raymond E. and Grace (Raider) Kifer Sr. He was a 1980 graduate of Bradford High School.

After high school, Gene enlisted in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged.

On October 14, 2017, in the yard of her mother, he married Sherry L. (Coast) Foster, who survives.

Gene worked many jobs during his career, including a Honda car dealership in FL and as an over the road truck driver for Steven's Transport.

He loved to work with his hands, going camping with family and friends and enjoyed watching the Steelers and Pirates.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sherry, Gene has two step sons, Robert (Mandy) Schleicher, and Roy Schleicher, one step daughter Nikki (Matt) Renwick, six grandchildren, Hannah, Abbigal, Andrew, Jaydon, Alexis and Blaze, two sisters Mary Ann Hauser, and Ellie Mae Kifer, three brothers, Gene (Patty) Smith, Terry Kifer, and Emery Basatto, one aunt Charlotte Bergin, and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 10:00am  to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., followed by the funeral service at Noon, with Rev. Matt Blake, Pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, as officiant.

Committal service, burial and Military Honors by members of the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 108 will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2:00pm in Limestone Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
