Rita E. Johnson, 98 of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Bradford, passed away Sunday February 10, 2019, at Tallahassee, FL.

Born October 4, 1920 in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Anthony 'Bell' and Sarah B. (Barnes) Luke. She graduated Bradford High School in 1937.

On October 26, 1939 at the St. Bernard Church, she married Robert M. Johnson, who died December 6, 1996

Rita was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Jacksonville, FL.

Surviving is one daughter, Rita (Donald) Ficke of Tallahassee, FL, one son, Dana (Donna) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, six grandchildren, Jan M. (Ficke) Reid, Jill M. (Ficke) Simon, Michael L. Johnson / Clare Ellen (Catallano), Sven C. Johnson, and Stacy L. (Johnson) Greenberg / Adam Greenberg, six great grandchildren, Gabrielle Reid, Ashleigh Reid, Sarah (Cornelius) / Tripp Lindholm, Anthony Johnson, Michael Johnson Jr., and Abigayle Greenberg, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her eldest son Robert L. Johnson, two brothers, James D. Luke and John E. Luke, and two sisters, Mary Holcomb and Theresabell Cassick.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019, in St. Bernard Mausoleum with Rev. Stanley Swacha, Senior Assistant, of St. Bernard Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
