There really are no words to adequately describe one of God’s angels so I wouldn’t do Phyllis justice by even trying. But I can tell you that her and Emory created the sweetest woman I have ever met. She also showed me that it really is possible to get every white and black seed out of a watermelon. She taught me that stay at home moms do get up at 3am and don’t complain about it, to make bacon and eggs (that she helped butcher) but consider it a true blessing that she took such pride in. She showed me how to pit a cherry and make a sled out of a trash can lid and then slide down. She taught me to take my shoes off before I go in a house and that you can scrub a shower everyday and still have lime and rust marks. I watched her iron her washcloths. She vacuumed every single day and still had those plastic things on couches. She took pride in every thing she did and I often tell my kids that God won’t give you more until he knows you’ll take care of what you have and she was the epitome of that. She would play board games with us for hours and actually enjoyed it. She made us all feel like we were the most important thing in the world. She bought the very best Christmas gifts and lined the paper up when she wrapped them that it forced you to not want to open them immediately but savor them. I have no doubt her and Emory are in heaven together tonight and she has taken over and been promoted as God’s Executive Housekeeper.

Phyllis was a great lady. She always made me feel like one of the family. I''ll always remember her tending her flowers. Just know she is at peace now. Prayers to all her family.

Nancy, Betty and families, Words are never adequate in moments like these. I will say though, that my heart goes out to you, and I will always treasure my memories of both your Mom and Dad. I feel privileged that they included me in your family many times and I loved them both. Your Mom will suffer no more and is now in God''s arms with your Dad.
