William G. Baldwin

William “Bill” G. Baldwin, 95, formerly of 77 Rockland Avenue, Bradford, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday January 14, 2021.  Bill passed away from complications of Covid-19, at the Bradford Manor.

Born September 14, 1925 in Bradford he was a son of the late Harley Baldwin and Pauline (Cramer) Scriber. He was raised by his mother and stepfather Guile Scriber.

Bill attended Bradford schools and began working in his youth to help support his family.

On September 18, 1950 he was drafted into the United States Army. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged on September 6, 1952.

Bill married Joan I. (Minor) Baldwin who died February 18, 2019. 

Bill had worked in construction most of his life and will be best known for being a stone mason/bricklayer. He was very satisfied and proud of his work and continued doing so up until his 93rd birthday.

He loved to hunt and fish. When not working he could be found tending to his gardens. He had great musical talents. He played the harmonica in the “Ridge Runners” band in the 1960’s and 1970's. He loved animals, but his greatest joy was his beagles, which were always on the job with him.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy (Paul) Kemery, of Bradford, Jackie Gross, of Bradford, Sheryl Pecora, of Ft. Myers, FL, two sons, John (Colette) Anderson, of Kane, and Tom (Kathy) Anderson, of Bradford, his former wife Sandra Good of Bradford, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan of more than 40 years, one son, Dennis "Turk" Anderson, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

There will be no public services. Friends are invited to livestream the funeral service on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 11:00 am when Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church will officiate. To livestream go to www.hollenbeckcahill.com

Full military honors will be accorded at Willow Dale Cemetery by members of the United States Army, and Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 108.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the McKean County SPCA.
