Thomas E. Young

Thomas E. Young, 86, of Droney Road, Gifford, passed away, peacefully on Tuesday February 2, 2021 at his residence.

Born November 23, 1934 in Gifford, he was a son of the late Emery H. and Angeline (Veroche) Young. He attended Mt. Alton and St. Bernard as well as Bradford High School.

Tom served in the United States Air Force, from 1953 to 1957.

On August 2, 1958 in St. Bernard Church, he married V. Jean (Dennis) Young who survives.

After the service he work with his father in the local Oil Fields. He and his wife move ro Albuquerque NM and began working at Bell Telephone as a service technician. He retired from AT&T in 1989 after 30 years of service.

He was a member of St. Bernard Church, the NRA and several bowling and golfing leagues. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, bowling and hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife Jean of 63 years is one sister Gloria Harcourt, of Erie, and one brother Ed (Sue) Young of Evansville IN, and several nieces and nephews.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Bernard Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Tom was an amazing man...he did beautiful wood work. He built a wooden table when our daughter was born and we had the extreme pleasure of bowling with Tom and Jean in the Sunday evening mixed league. Jean you are in our thoughts and prayers my dear.... we love and adore you both SO much ??
