Doris M. Coder

Doris M. Coder, 89, of Parkside Drive, Limestone, NY, passed away, Saturday, April 10, 2021, at her residence.

Born December 20, 1931 in Olean NY, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Florence (Carl) Williams.

On August 3, 1950 in Delevan NY, she married Harold V. Coder Sr. who preceded her in death on August 6, 1991.

Doris started work as a child at her parent’s farm in Humphrey. She continued to run the farm until her parents died. In 1950 she moved to Limestone and continued her father’s refuse company and renamed it Coder Services. She ran the company for 35 years in Limestone, Allegany, and Olean retiring in 1992.  After she retired, she worked as a nanny and housekeeper for Dr. Kothari's and Dr. Kotimire families.

She was an avid gardener, enjoyed being outdoors, loved to cut firewood and drive tractors. She was a hardworking woman.

Doris was a member of the Olean Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving is one son, Joeie (Mary) Coder, of Limestone; two granddaughters, Crystal Coder, and Nicole Dicus, and three grandsons, Kevin Coder, Cory Weaver and Joey Coder, 12 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Harold V. Coder Jr., and one daughter Karen L. Weaver. 

Friends will be invited to attend a Celebration of Doris’s Life at a later date to be announced. Burial will be in Brockport Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department, Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
