Kay A Walker

Kay A. Walker, 84, a loving aunt, of 569 Main Street, Limestone, formerly of Salamanca, passed away at Hamot Medical Center, on August 11, 2021. 

Born on May 16, 1937, in Salamanca, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothea (Barnes) Thompson.

Kay graduated from Salamanca High School, class of 1954 and attended Geneseo State College for one year. 

Upon returning home she married Dahny F. Walker on October 29, 1955, in the Peoples Methodist Church in Salamanca.

Kay started her working career at Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford in the accounting Dept., continued to become a CPA, and worked for Seneca Nation of Indians and retired from Rural Revitalization, after 54 years in the work force.

She was a former member of the Peoples United Methodist Church, was active in the church choir and youth fellowship, the Eastern Star, Exchange Club, and she served on the Board for the Cattaraugus Development Committee.

Kay along with her husband instructed local high school marching bands in Salamanca, Olean, Falconer and Southwestern. She was also taught the winter guard including Salamanca High School “Murder Incorporated” and other winter guards in Bradford and Olean.

Surviving is one niece, Jodi Granger of California, a very special friend, Annie Widger and her granddaughter Elsie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Lothea Granger, two infant brothers, one nephew Brad Granger.
