Eulaine R. Rowe

Eulaine R. Rowe, 97, formerly of 10 Lawrence Court, Bradford, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born in Tidioute on June 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Grace A. (Atwell) Carnahan Shunk and Lynnford S. Carnahan. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1942.

On October 17, 1947 in Bradford, she married Charles T. Rowe who preceded her in death on September 20, 2011.

Eulaine worked for 20 years at Hanley & Bird.

Eulaine was a member of First United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She was a member and Past President of Gamma Sigma Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Sorority, and was an active volunteer, along with her husband, with the Elf Fund.

In recent years Eulaine resided at the Bradford Ecumenical Home where she was known as the "Comeback Kid". Her resiliency and determination were admired by many as she successfully dodged the various pitfalls of aging. However, a recent fall proved to be more than even she could endure, reminding us that no one lives forever.

Surviving is one son, Lynn Kevin and his wife Bonnie, and one grandson, Stephen James Rowe, all of Milton VT, and a special friend Debbie Rice, of Bradford.

Services are private at the convenience of family at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev Rick Nelson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Residents Activities Fund, 100 St. Francis Drive, Bradford PA 16701, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

All Condolences -

I have so many wonderful memories of Eulaine over the years. She was the last surviving member of the three couples that shared so much throughout the years - Eulaine and Chuck, Helen and “Ting” and Connie and Bob. Always lovely and warm, she always made me feel special as a child. A long life well lived…she will always be loved and missed. Well done good and faithful servant.

My mother, the late Mary (Walter) Lewis, was a close friend of Eulaine, going back to their sorority days. The 2 were reunited at Chapel Ridge assisted living and later had rooms across the hall from each other in the Alzheimer''s wing at the Ecumenical Home. During our many visits to see my mom, Eulaine was with her. She even sang while mom played the organ/piano. Eulaine was usually with us for Thanksgiving dinners as well. She was a wonderful gal, and I am blessed to have met her.

So sorry to hear about Mrs. Rowe''s passing. She was a special lady. She is now happy to be with Chuck. To Debbie, you were a wonderful friend and caregiver.
