R. Bruce Perry

R. Bruce Perry, 89, of Bradford, passed away at the Olean General Hospital on September 13, 2021.

Born on August 5, 1932, in Bradford, he was the only son of Robert and Joy (Sharpe) Perry. 

Bruce was a 1954 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1954 graduate of Alleghany College-Meadville receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.

In 1955, Bruce married Beverly Moreton, who survives.

He served in the United States Army from 1955-1957, in Upper Heyford, England.

Bruce worked as a sales correspondent for Textron Co., in Fallston, before returning to Bradford where he taught social studies for 17 years at School Street. H was a founder of the Learned Friends of Education, and co-owned Yellow Dog Garage, with his wife.  

Member of the Sports Car Club of America for over 50 years. Alfa Romeo Owners Club. Raced his Alfa Romeo in the northeast and qualified for the run offs at Road Atlanta.  Belonged to the Wheelmen (high wheeled bike rider). Member of the Antique Auto Club and was on the board of directors of Oak Hill Cemetery.   

He enjoyed traveling including a trip around the world, and loved to downhill ski, which he continued to do up until the age of 87.
