Kenneth A. Shonts

Kenneth A. Shonts, 93, of Bradford, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the Bradford Manor.

Born on December 5, 1927, in Cyclone, he was a son of the late Nelson J. and Lena Anna (Price) Shonts.

Ken attended school in Cyclone and Smethport.  He then enlisted in the United States Navy.

In 1950 in Limestone, he married Frances Jane (Sidonio) Shonts, who passed away April 5, 2004. Then in 2004, he married Esther B. (Howe) Sylvester, who passed away February 23, 2019.

Ken was employed by Kendall Oil Company and later became an independent contractor.

He enjoyed storytelling, hunting, fishing, gardening, singing along to his favorite country songs, and time with his family and pets.

Surviving is one son, Ralph Shonts, of Arkansas, two granddaughters, Lisa Gomes and Valerie Bledsoe, one grandson, Michael Shonts, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Frank (Nancy) Shonts, of Bradford, and Jack (Judy) Shonts of Cyclone, and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one daughter, Elizabeth Gomes, four sisters, Helen Smith, Virginia Burns, Florence Jean Shonts, and infant Grace, four brothers, Everett Shonts, Donald Shonts, Ralph Shonts, and Arthur Shonts.

Friends and family will be received on Friday November 5, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, at 12:00 pm funeral services will held with Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
