Marshall Marty McLaughlin

Marshall "Marty" P. McLaughlin, Jr., 83, formerly of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, with his family by his side.

He was born on June 19, 1938 in Bradford. He was the son of the late Marshall P. McLaughlin, Sr. and Marion G. (Sheldon) McLaughlin.

Marty worked for the Laborers Local Union 836 for more than 30 years, he took pride in the part that he played during the construction of the Kinzua Dam. Marty was active in many things. He was a Freemason. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of many different leagues. He also dedicated many hours to the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster to his sons Troup 499 and was their little league baseball coach. As a former member of the Bolivar Drive Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, was active in the church choir, and drove the church bus. Most of all Marty loved spending time with his family. He was an extraordinary father, grandfather, and devoted husband. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by a son: James and his wife Barbara McLaughlin of Milton, two daughters: Debbie and her husband Steve Pettinato of Bradford, Marsha and her husband Dave Flickinger of Harrisburg. He is also survived by a brother, Robert James "Jim" and his wife Diane McLaughlin; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra "Sandy" (Watson) McLaughlin and his son, Marshall P. McLaughlin, III.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Home, 33 South Avenue. At 3:00 p.m. a Celebration of Life will be held with Rev. Brad Preston officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Bradford Area Christian Academy, 23 Chambers St, Bradford, PA 16701, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 in Marty's memory.
