Ralph F. Detweiler

Ralph F. Detweiler, 87, of 49 Fernwood Drive, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born January 12, 1935, in Trenton, NJ, he was a son of the late Ralph F. and Ruth (Fosbenner) Detweiler, Sr.

Ralph was a 1952 graduate of Sellersville-Perkasie High School, and he attended Penn State University.

On September 18, 1954, in Perkasie, NJ, he married Janet L. (Haring) Detweiler, who survives.

He was employed from 1948 to 1954 at his fathers Iron Railing Shop, from 1954 to 1959 he worked at Link Belt in Colmar, and from 1959 Prudential Financial for 31 years, retiring in 1991, as Sales Manager and District Agent Quakertown and District Manager in Bradford.

Ralph was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, a member of the Bradford Rotary Club, where he served as Team Leader of group study, on the Board of Directors and was a Past President, and Past District Governor, Exchange Rotary International. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Chapel Ridge, and Beacon Light. He was also a Foster Township Supervisor, served on the Board for the Children's Home, Bradford Ecumenical Home, and Landmark Society. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 749 F&AM, McKean County Shrine Club, Bradford Zem Zem Road Runners, and was a Borough Councilman in Perkasie.

He was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award from Rotary.

Ralph is survived by his wife Janet of 67 years, one daughter, Lori (Stephen) Wells, of Winchester VA, two sons, Randy (Mary Lou) Detweiler, of Bradford, and Craig (Margaret) Detweiler, of Atlanta GA, five grandchildren, Stephen (Maria) Wells, Amber (Shane) Jenkins, Natalie (James) Williams, Brian (Brooke) Detweiler, Janet Detweiler, five great grandchildren Cole and Aria Jenkins, Hannah and Zoey Wells, and Owen Williams. and his grand dog Ralphie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Rochelle "Judy" Detweiler.

Friends will be received on Saturday May 14, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church, followed by funeral services with Rev. Rob Klouw, officiating. 

Member of Masonic Lodge 749 F&AM will conduct a masonic service at 10:55 am in the church.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to Shriner's Hospital, Care for Children, Beacon Light, or a charity of the donor's choice.
