Verlin L. Black

Verlin L. Black, 90, of 51 Harding Ave., Bradford, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at his residence. 

Born February 13, 1932, in Bradford, a son of the late Augustus E. and Caroline D (Clark) Black.

He graduated from Bradford High School class of 1950. Verlin worked as a tool and die maker at Dresser Industries. 

On November 12, 1955, in Bradford, he married Shirley K. (Bish) Black, who passed away March 5, 2020.

He was a life member of Eagles Club #2430 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and golf.

Surviving are, three daughters, Robyn (the late Tim) Phillips, Nanette (Jaye) Coates, and Barbara (Ron) Haas, all of Bradford, one grandson Christopher (Denice Butler) Phillips and three great grandchildren, Kylee, Konnor and Caden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers, Robert Black, Stanley Black and Donald Black, two sisters, Florence Updegrove and Jean Reynolds.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, June 20, 2022, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Hollenbeck Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc, 372 East Main Street, at 1:00 p.m. funeral services will be held with Rev. Jay Tennies, Pastor of Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to Hill Memorial United Church or Visiting Nurses Association.
