Douglas V. Schuppenhauer Sr., 79, of Nichols Run, Limestone, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Salamanca Rehabilitation Center.

Doug was born in Ashford Station, NY on December 11, 1942, he was a son of the late Walter E. Schuppenhauer and Helen (Gleave) Schuppenhauer-Andress. He attended Limestone High School. 

During high school he worked on a farm, later for Pat Suppa helping to build the DeSoto Motel in Olean, he entered the United States Navy for four years, he served in the pacific region and was honorably discharged.

Doug worked as a truck driver, having worked for Dunlop TIre, Dresser Rand, and Crossett Trucking. During the 1980's he and his wife owned and operated S & S Video Rental. He enjoyed fishing and going to the Seneca Allegany Casino. 

Surviving is one son, Neil A. Schuppenhauer, of Limestone, NY, two brothers, Leonard Schuppenhauer, of Bradford. and Robert Schuppenhauer, of Derrick City, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patty J. (Livingston) Schuppenhauer who died September 1, 1990, two sons, Troy Schuppenhauer in 1981, and Douglas Schuppenhauer who died in 2006.

Services are private and at the convenience of family. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
