Barbara Sankner, 88, of the Nelson Avenue Apartments, formerly of Hedgehog Lane passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born August 18, 1936, in Lewis Run, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Onuffer) Sankner. She attended Lewis Run schools and graduated from Bradford HIgh School in 1954.

Barb was employed after high school at the Columbia Gas Company and retired after many years of service. She was the Office Manager in Bradford and Binghamton, NY.

She was a former member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Lewis Run and a current member of St. Bernard Church.

Barb was an avid golfer and former member of Pennhills Country Club where she won the Women's Club Championship and a member the Pine Acres Country Club and also was the Women's Club Champion. She was an avid bowler.

Surviving is two nieces, Celia (Bob) Boyle of Ashville, NC and Paula Alter, of Franklin, NC,  four nephews, Stephen (Beth) Thiele of Bradford, Dave (MaryAnn) Thiele, of Rio Rancho, NM, Michael Sanker, of Middletown, CT and Tom Johnson, of Franklin NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, John, James, Joseph, Steve and George Sankner, and four sisters, Ann Johnson, Mary Kraus, Margaret Sankner and Betty Thiele.

Friends will be received on Friday May 2, 2025, from 10 am to 11 am in St. Bernard Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Rev. John Jacquel, Pastor of St. Bernard Church as Celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
