James A. Soyke

James A. Soyke, 89, of High Street, Bradford, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Bradford Manor. 

Born on January 22, 1936, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Alexander and Dorothy M. (McQuay) Soyke.

He was a 1954 graduate of Homestead High School. 

Jim enlisted in the United States Navy on August 26, 1954 and served on the USS Kearsarge, USS Oriskany, until his honorable discharge on July 16, 1958.

On November 14, 1964, in the Rew EUB Church, he married Denise M. (McCollough) Soyke who preceded him in death on November 29, 2018.

Jim moved to Bradford in 1964 and worked as an auto body repairman for Elmer West of West Buick. He later was employed at American Olean Tile, Corning Glass, and Dale Electronics where he retired. 

Jim and his late wife Denise enjoyed their retirement home in Zepherhills, FL, where they spent their winter months.  

Surviving are two sons, Bradley A. Soyke, of Bradford and Derek W. (Deborah) Soyke, of Derrick City;  one  brother, Thomas Soyke, of Summerville, SC,  many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Donald Soyke.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue, where at 1:00 pm funeral services will be held with Pastor Homer Williams of the Sawyer Evangelical Church officiating.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
