Helen E. Smith
Helen E. Smith, 82, of Cyclone, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 27, 1931, in Cyclone, she was a daughter of the late Nelson J. and Lena Anna (Price) Shonts.
Mrs. Smith was a 1949 graduate of Smethport High School. She had worked at Sal's restaurant, in Bradford, then at the Smethport Market Basket and later as the Customer Service Manager at WR Case Cutlery & Sons, retiring after seventeen years of service.
On December 17, 1971 in Gifford she married Ronald H. Smith who survives.
In addition to her husband of 41 years she is survived by, a daughter, Sherril (Jim) Schmader, of Bear Lake, four sons Jim (Linda) Wankel, of Duke Center, Steve (Cecilia) Wankel, of Stoney Point, NC, Mike (Laurie Fadely) Wankel, of Cyclone, and Mark (Eva) Wankel, of Hiddenite, NC, a sister, Florence Crum, of Bradford, five brothers, Arthur (Susan) Shonts, of Bradford, Ralph Shonts, of Statesville, NC, Kenneth (Esther) Shonts, of Cyclone, Frank (Nancy) Shonts, of Derrick City, and Jack (Bonnie) Shonts, of Cyclone, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Virginia Burns and an infant sister Grace Shonts, and two brothers, Everett J. Shonts and Don Shonts.
Family will be receiving friends Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00am in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am with Rev. Glenn A. Hamilton, pastor Emeritus of the Lighthouse Community Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
