James L. Wooster, 78, of Limestone Run, Limestone, NY, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Olean General Hospital.
Born March 25, 1948, in Bradford, he was a son of the late John E. and Norma Jean (Hurst) Wooster. He was a 1966 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On December 30, 1966, he enlisted into the United States Army. He served 2 tours overseas in Vietnam and was honorably discharged on September 15, 1969.
On September 25, 1971, in the Bolivar Drive Baptist Church he married Patsy (Silsby) Wooster who survives.
After the service he was employed at Servomation Vending Company. In the early 70's he started his own company, Jim's TV Service, repairing televisions. He continued to refine that business into the original dish sales and installation company Wooster Service's, followed by sales of Dish Network TV.
He had several hobbies throughout the years including CB radios, building/repairing/programming computers and riding his horse's Amber and Sapphire. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1560 of Limestone.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patsy, of 54 years, are two daughters, Jamie (Mike) Spencer, of Bradford, and Shelly (Jeff) Benner, of Limestone, four grandchildren, Alyssa (Dayton) Young, Nicolas Spencer, Madison Spencer, and Kaden Benner, two great grandchildren, Oliver Young and Avery Young, two sisters, Gwen Hatch, of Bradford and Penny (the late David) Distrola, of Lebanon formerly from Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.
At this time no services are planned. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
